Synopsis:

Agne blames Terese, her mother, for imposing the burden of the country life on her. Terese seeks to understand the reason of her own misfortunes. Frustrated, she goes to see her son-in-law, her only friend, but dies on her way to him. Only after her mother’s death does Agne realize her loss.
