Florence recently made a feature length documentary film, Sisters in Law, in collaboration with British documentary film-maker, Kim Longinotto (Divorce Iranian Style, 1998; Runaway, 2000; The Day I will Never Forget, 2002). Sisters in Law looks at the work of two women in the Cameroonian Judiciary: Vera NGASSA, State Prosecutor and Beatrice NTUBA, Magistrate court President and Judge. The film follows 4 court cases involving women and young girls. Sisters in Law celebrates a small slice of women’s courage, achievements and their determination to seek justice in modern Cameroon.
To mark the International Women's Day (2005), Florence made a short film, My Mother: ISANGE. This project was part of a series of short films by women in Wales and the films were screened in the National Museums and Galleries of Wales throughout March 2005.
Florence’s ambition is to construct and represent African people in new and different ways in film; to tell stories that reveal different realities and viewpoints that move beyond the negative stereotypes of helpless victims of war, poverty or disease.
