Manoel de Oliveira will be honored at the Opening Ceremony of FIKE 2008.
The Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira will be honored at the opening of FIKE 2008 - Evora International Short Film Festival. As one of the great names of World Cinema, Manoel de Oliveira will be honored for his contribution to Cinema and the Portuguese Culture.
Author of a large number of films whose importance is still partly to discover, Manoel de Oliveira recently returned to short films with the completion of tree films “Do Visível Ao Invisível”, “Romance de Vila do Conde” and “O Vitral e a Santa Morta” which were recently screened at the Festival of Venice.
Celebrating the Cinema of Manoel de Oliveira and his contribution to the Cinematographic Art and Culture is the sense of this tribute.
