Paulo Furtado presents Femina Series

The programming of FIKE 2011 for 27 Out., Wednesday, was marked by the presentation of Femina Series, Paul Furtado, at 18h00 in the Auditorium SororMariana. Israeli-Palestinian cooperation in FIKE 2011

This project of the Jerusalem Cinematheque, which began in 1999, each year brings together Arab and Jewish students for a month's film cooperation, culminating in the presentation of films that reflect their desires and concerns. Awards ceremony

After five competitive sessions during which it was designed more than fifty films, took place on Saturday the awards of the contest this year, closing with a flourish the 10th International Festival of Short Film Évora (FIKE 2011) .

The schedule for Saturday, March 29, opened as usual with a child sitting in Sister Mariana Auditorium, beginning at 11:00.

At 15:00 on the same site, was presented to show FAIA, the result of close collaboration that has kept FIKE with the International Festival of Audiovisual Atibaia. The show consisted of five short fiction films in Brazil, all of them awarded in festivals in his country: "I Do not Want Back Alone" by Daniel Ribeiro, "The most violent movies of the World" by Gilberto Scarpa, "The Red Light Bandit "by Peter George;" plate ", Thiago Ricarte and" Ants "by Caroline Fioratti.

After dinner, at 21h30, was designed to feature-length documentary "In the Country of the Amazons," built in honor of FIKE 2011 provides that the director Silvino Santos (1886-1970), the Portuguese emigrant who became the father of documentary making in Amazonia. It is a silent film, whose projection will be accompanied by an original soundtrack, composed and performed by musicians Nuno Costa and Oscar Grace

The closing session of the FIKE 2011 ended with the awards to the winning films of the festival's competitive edge. In dispute were the FIKE Trophy and prizes for Best Fiction, Best Documentary and Best Animation FIKE / Picture Station. The official jury also awarded six honorable mentions in the areas of Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Representation, Best European Short Film, Best Comedy, and Best Portuguese Short Film.

It was also awarded the Don Quixote Prize of the International Federation of Film Club, the Prize of the Organization and the Audience Award, voted on by viewers throughout the competitive sessions.
